The Sky-deck /Eureka Tower / 88 floor

Friday afternoon isn't as busy as some people might think.

My desitnation today is the 88 floor platform at Melbournes highest tower! In order to get pushed out 3m in a glass box.

The building itself is an office building but if you look for the "Skydeck at the ground floor you will quickly find a seperate entrance.

Cost for adults to get up there: 23$ and to get pushed out over the edge it's another additional 13$ as not everybody has to do it.

In 20sec. an elevator will take you write up to the top and you have to "pop your ears" once you arrive up there as the lift was super fast without people realizing sometime.

Once you are out there, you have the opportunity to make a picture and get it printed afterwards, cost: 15$

They only let groups of max 7 people this sliding box. Cameras, phones and bags need to be left in lockers. Before you will see everything when they more you ober the edge, the glass is covered with a white layer but if you are fuly pushed out and the box stopes moving you can hear "glass breaking noices" coming from little loudspeakers. A performance I didn't really think it's funny at all.

I had no idea how afraid I actually was about heights. Once I was standing right in the middle of this "see-through" glass-container looking 297,3m down I didn't feel very well as I realized how high I actually was. It is possible to move around inside the box s it's very well contructed and the glass very thick. You have to put special fabrix or plastic "covers" over your shows ( see image) otherwise you could make the glass dirty.

After 5min outside(to long in my opinion^^) you get pulled back in. 5 too long min. if you had enough after 30sec like me. BUT i managed to make to be brave and make a picture only by myself on the outside corner of the glass-box.

Apart from this little attraction, you can walk around free on the 88floor without any anxiety feeling as there is a lot space a cafe and no more critical view point over the edge. Only beautiful white view around the whole building in every direction of Melbourne.

You can even see the coast, where the oceans start and on the other side you will seenall the skyscrapers and the center with it's architectural sights, the river as well as the botanic gardens.
