Moombo Festival

On a relaxing day at St. Kilda beach, the Melbourne's city beach, I met a belgium girl who was there by herself as well. Her name is Tess and she has the most awesome tattoo sleeve ever. Tess was suppose to stay for 3-6months as I intended to do but she is going home on the next day as her accommodation and internship didn't work out so she had to sadly go home.

However, after chilling at the beach we decided to have a look what's "on" in the city as some guys on the beach told us about a public festival on the Southbank center.

It is only a 20min tram ride from St. Kinda to the city and as we arrived we saw how many people actually know about this festival! It is on from the 7th until the 11th of march 2013 and great fun for young and old.

The had a huge fun-park on both sides of the rivers starting from Federation square at Flinder str. and goes right down along the river, over the bridge and back to the Art center bridge. (scroll down for image of map).

A lot of "toy-catching" games were there but to brows through and have a wonder was absolutely free, you only have to pay for the rides on the fun-park attractions.

In beween was a water-ski show with motorboats and redoubts to jump. At 8.30pm everybody started to sit on the grass next to the river to watch the fireworks which signalized the end of the night.

This is already the 3rd firework this year for me, as I've seen one at new years eve in my hometown Graz/Austria, the chinese NYE- Feb. in Hong Kong and now.It went on for about 20min and went really crazy in the end. It is always interesting to see how people get hypnotized by fireworks, but it was a fantastic show indeed.
